Sleep – Foundation for Health

Head on Table

It’s so simple it’s almost ridiculous, but sleep is the one thing people lack the most for good health.

What is the big deal about sleep? Well, in a society that is always on the run, where stress and anxiety run rampant and our bodies take the brunt end of all of this, sleep is the time that nature set aside for your body to repair itself.

But who tells you that?

Listen, this is something you don’t want to hear, but your health comes first. You might have to give up some things, downsize, reduce activities, whatever it takes to get to where you need to be.

Talk About Dumb

On this site, you know I don’t mix words so, if sleep will improve your health then don’t be dumb about it, make changes. What good are you to yourself or anyone else if you become a burden because you allowed yourself to get sick.

If you car breaks down how hard is it to get around town, if your body breaks down how difficult is it to live life? You know the answer to that.

Sleep is a mechanism for not only your body to replenish itself, but it’s a time for your emotions to recycle by ways of dreaming. Now, please don’t ask how it all works, that’s a question for a much higher source than I, but it does make sense.

If you’ve had the occasion where you didn’t sleep for 24 hours straight, then you know how your mind starts to get mushy. Take that same though and stretch it out over a period of time where you don’t get the proper sleep and you probably feel even worse.

But who listens, we just act dumb and continue on our way until something has to happen to make us listen. Our society has built a lifestyle around work and more work. This is why I look around and keep thinking “what a dumb life we live in these days”.

People say we have evolved, but when I look at certain things I think we have devolved in many ways.

Anyway, give it a though here and there if your felling run down or just tired. You might save a trip to your doctors, it could be you just need a good old fashion good nights sleep.
